Happy holidays friends.
Something hit me this holiday season pretty hard. Life has changed a lot in the last few years, and one of the biggest aspects from a business standpoint is that people are terrified to spend money. And no, it's not my trying to justify why my sales are down a lot from years prior(they are, but this is not about that). I am also afraid of spending, because it is all cyclical. Groceries cost more, rent is more expensive, school is more expensive, life is more expensive, so anything that is not necessary to survive is a lot harder to afford. And as consumers stop spending, small business owners stop spending, and as small business owners stop spending, the economic cycle stops spinning. It is what it is, and I am here to say "that's ok."
I took this opportunity to reevaluate what the holidays mean, and you know what, spending money on stuff is not it. Instead, I have been striving to be more present with my family and friends, to cherish the time I have with them, and to appreciate what we do have, versus examining all of the things we don't. But this also exposed something that hit me hard this year, as I opened this blog with. And that is there are a lot of you out there that do not have loved ones to share the holidays with. Whether you are lonely in love, your family is gone or cut off from your life, or you struggle to make friends, some of you are in a situation where you do not have people to be with. If that is the case, I want you to know that I am here for you. Seriously, reach out if you need help. I have found far more happiness in being useful to others that I would love to be a person you can count on if you need to talk, vent, cry, yell, laugh, whatever. You are NOT alone, because there are others like me, and you can find them playing D&D at a local brewery, going to church, seeing a classic movie at the local theater, or whatever else you may be interested in.
I have been digging deep into manifestation, karma, dharma, and the like this year, so I apologize if I sound preachy, but it truly has changed my outlook on life. One of the biggest messages in all of it is that what you want from the universe, you need to put out into the universe. Want more money, be more charitable. Want more friends, be more friendly to others. Want more love, being more loving. It's hard the first time, but I promise that you will soon discover that YOU are in control of your own abundance, and that power is intoxicating!
So for those who need to hear it, "YOU GOT THIS!" A new year is coming, and it is a new opportunity to make your life what you want it to be. But in the meantime, if you need to talk, I am just a click away.
